Apple Crumble

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup of raisins
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar (divided evenly)
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon (divided evenly)
  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1 cup of chopped nuts (pecans, almonds, or walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup of almond flour (or oat flour)
  • 1/4 cup of canola oil
  • 1/4 tsp. of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375℉ and spray baking dish with non-stick spray.
  • In a bowl, combine apples, vanilla, 1/3 cup of brown sugar, cornstarch and 1/4 tsp. of cinnamon. Pour into baking dish and set aside.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, stir together 1/3 cup of brown sugar, oats, chopped nuts, almond flour, canola oil, the remaining cinnamon and salt. Use fork to break up any chunks of flour.
  • Sprinkle the crumble topping over apples.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until the topping is browned and apples are bubbly around the edges.

Notes

In addition to raisins, add in other dried fruits such as cherries, apricots or cranberries for a healthy and sweet boost of flavor.
