1 ball store-bought prepared pizza dough (for a standard pizza) ¾ cup pizza sauce 1 ¼ cups low fat mozzarella cheese (shredded) Optional toppings: mini turkey pepperoni sliced olives bell pepper (any color, finely chopped)
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Lightly spray a 12-count muffin pan with cooking spray.
Cut or tear the pizza dough into 12 equal pieces.
Flatten each piece of dough into a small circle. Press one into each muffin cup, bringing the dough slightly up the sides.
Bake for 6–8 minutes, or until the dough begins to set and turns lightly golden. Carefully remove the pan from the oven.
Spoon about 1 Tbsp. pizza sauce into each cup. Add a small sprinkle of mozzarella, your favorite toppings and another sprinkle of mozzarella on top.
Bake for another 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden.
Let the pizza bites cool for a few minutes before carefully removing them from the pan. Enjoy!
Have leftovers? Store them in a covered container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Get the kids involved! They can help press the dough into the muffin cups and choose their own toppings.
Make them your own! Try different veggies or other favorite pizza toppings your family already enjoys.
