dried hibiscus flowers
(or 4 hibiscus tea bags)

water

large handful fresh mint leaves
(about ½ cup, loosely packed)
¼ to ⅓
cup
honey or agave syrup
(to taste)
1/2
lime or lemon, juiced
(optional)
Instructions
Bring 6 cups of water to a boil.
Remove from heat, then add hibiscus flowers and mint leaves. Cover and let steep for 15-20 minutes.
Strain out the hibiscus and mint using a mesh strainer or slotted spoon.
Stir in honey or agave while still warm. Adjust sweetness to taste.
Serve hot or let cool and refrigerate. Serve over ice with a sprig of mint or a lime wedge if desired.
Notes
Dried hibiscus flowers are available in bulk at most Mexican food stores.
